Diploma program in “Information Technology and Cyber Security” a blend of IT and Cyber Security, is designed to produce graduates who wish to start their career as an “Information Technology and Cyber Security Specialist” in a fastest growing industry. The field of information technology continues to expand; the skills of an IT professional will always be an employable asset.

Through this diploma program, students will learn how to identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to internal IT systems and/or networks. Students will explore the systems, tools, and concepts used to minimize the risk to an organization’s cyberspace, and the standards and procedures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems. As one of the world’s fastest growing technology fields, the demand for IT and Cyber Security professionals has never been greater.

Upon completion of the program, students will have ability to:

  • Discuss security mitigation strategies and implementations

  • Secure data throughout its life-cycle in various environments
  • Apply host hardening best practices
  • Recognize common application IT security issues and apply appropriate controls
  • Describe key cryptography concepts and know when to apply them
  • Apply public key cryptography and related infrastructure to achieve security goals
  • Secure an IT system using authentication, authorization and access control technologies
  • Plan and implement physical and environmental security

Standard Admission

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful interview with Alison College Administration

Mature Admission

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Successful completion of College Entrance Test (CET)
  • A Canadian language benchmark 5 or equivalent (IELTS, TOEFL or other recognized test)
  • Successful interview with Alison College Administration
